introducing our first {human} intern!

by Denie Jacobson

introducing our first {human} intern!

We have some exciting news at hello ruby fashion truck!!! We hired our first intern at the boutique! Denie will be working all summer break on our photoshoots, website, orders + pop-up events in the truck. If you see her, give her a friendly hello; she's sure to give ya a smile!

intern-hello-ruby-truck

Learn about mah girl, Denie Jacobson:

Q: who are you?

A: I'm Denie, I'm from the small town of Gordon, Nebraska {way out west} and I'm a junior fashion merchandising major at UNL.

Q: describe your style.

A: My style is definitely always changing depending on the season and my mood. Right now I would say it's a combo of retro {thanks mom for the jeans, thanks dad for the graphic tees} and streetwear. My closet is filled with black and white, graphic tees, and denim but I'm trying to spice things up with pops of color lately!

Q: on a scale of 1-10, rate yourself on how weird you are.

A: 1000+, ask my mom, ask my dad, ask my friends. Too many sources to back this information it's probably a problem.

Q: what are you looking forward to the most with hello ruby?

A: I'm excited to see what all goes into running a boutique like you do! It's so exciting to see how successful you've become in the last year and know I will learn a lot in this summer to maybe have my own boutique someday in my future. AND to see Ruby all the time, of course, love doggies!

Q: if your closet was on fire what is the one item you would save?

A: If my closet was on fire I would save my senior homecoming dress from high school. {yikes} Sounds stupid but flipped backward it is the perfect jacket for a special occasion and is the most over the top thing I own that I would never buy again.

Q: what do you want to be when you grow up?

A: When I grow up I want to be a good mom, hopefully, a business owner, and just a happy human.

Q: fav animal? fav color? fav hobby?

A: My favorite animal hands down are doggiess- can't wait to get a big golden doodle like Ruby when I'm a "grownup". I do not have a favorite color, I like them all! My favorite hobby in my free time is to go running. My mom started me running when I was like 6 so it's just therapeutic and fun to do when I can!

Enjoy our fun + goofy photoshoot together!!!

we're turning O N E

by Jill Dudzinski

we're turning O N E

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US! At first I called it our one year anniversary. But wait, that's not as fun as fun as our first birthday now is it!?

hello ruby fashion truck, mobile boutique, fashion van, fashion boutique, mobile truck, WHATEVER the heck you want to call it, is turning one and we honestly can't believe it! To think of the first year is so emotional/crazy/lesson-learning.

So, I think you all know me, Jill, the owner, but I'll share again! PS: I do go by Ruby Girl too, as many of you call me that! I love it + it warms my heart!

I started the truck back in August of 2016 when I bought the truck and officially started my business legally. My hubs and I built the thing out {for full renovation, click here} + planned to launch April. February came and I went to market and was in love with the buying process. I got back + was like wow, I need to quit my full-time job like now to make this successful. So I did and it was scary. Really scary!

Fast forward to the launch and a quick spring/summer/fall with fun-filled weeks and events - I have learned so much over the year as it relates to brands, customers, customer service, marketing, social media, finances + business in general. I have met so many lovely people that I do pop-up events with and I couldn't be more grateful for that.

So, our first birthday. As I am thinking of fun things to do what comes to mind is a smash cake! All the cool kids are doing it! Literally.

Enjoy the pics.

new spring arrivals + local bloggers we love

by Jill Dudzinski

new spring arrivals + local bloggers we love

YOYO! Happy Spring!

It is finally nice out which is the best feeling in the world! This is the best time of the year when you go patio drinking and everyone gets wasted that first time because it's so nice out and you're so excited and in the best mood ever.

I wanted to highlight this super cute photoshoot by Julie Grant that Shelbi from Everyday Mrs. + Gina from Pearl Boulevard did this past week. It was a very fun spring-y shoot that got me way to excited about Easter, spring, pastels + overall cleaning up my life.

I met Shelbi via Instagram {pretty sure all of my new relationships have been like this - haha}. We met for coffee and always stay in touch to collab at local events and photoshoots. If you haven't seen her blog, check it out. She focuses on fashion with a touch of home design {look at her kitchen reno; you'll die}! I recently met Gina and she has two sweet little girls. Her blog is focused on home, beauty and kids lifestyle. Super endearing and makes me want to start thinking about the idea of having kids {maybe}.

They both are in hello ruby attire that we have right now: think clean, white front tie jumpsuit, draped light blue striped tank and a light dusty pink sweater. It's so light and airy it makes me happy.

Let us know what you think of this shoot!!

designer dupe | basic bitch tank

by Jill Dudzinski

designer dupe | basic bitch tank

greige + bone = colors we love for a neutral right now.

Our $12 basic bitch tanks are great for laying with a sweater or knotting with cut-offs. We love them because they are almost a swing style without being too large or loose. The cut is by far the best flattering tank we've found. It reminds us of the free people Long Nites in LA tank {$20}, but at almost half off  {$12} at hello ruby! Loves!

What do you think? Think it's a good dupe?! Would you add any other colors?
